Miami, Nov. 18, 2021 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will once again transform into a winter wonderland for the return of its popular Children’s Holiday at North, which kicks off with Santa arriving from the North Pole on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to donate a new toy for needy children in the community.
The North Campus will host a spectacular parade including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Santa’s little helpers, toy soldiers, beloved Disney characters, and exciting marching bands. Children will be able to take photos with Santa and enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus. The event will also feature several live performances, including a Polynesian dance group, a hip-hop dance team and much more!
“MDC is committed to serving the needs of the community,” said North Campus Interim President Fermin Vazquez. “Many families struggle financially and cannot afford to celebrate. The North Campus creates this festive event in hopes of bringing holiday merriment and celebration to all.”
In addition, there will be numerous educational and cultural interactive learning activities, such as the Youth in Agriculture Pavilion, which features a petting zoo, Human Rights Tent, the M-DCPS Magnet Schools Zone and STEM Interactive LEGO Tent. The Holidays-Around-the-World Center will showcase global holiday customs. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts at Santa’s Pavilion, complete an obstacle course, take pictures with princesses and characters at their respective tents, and learn about wellness at the Health Pavilion.
