Miami, May 31, 2024 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Medical Campus will host the thrilling 2024 Randy Boaz Memorial ALS Competition, an annual event where teams of paramedics and emergency medical technicians face off in various emergency scenarios under the clock. The competition will take place on Friday, June 21, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at MDC Medical Campus featuring local, state, national and international teams. Working media is welcome.
The Randy Boaz Memorial ALS Competition reinforces best practices and techniques, which help enhance the teams’ daily service to the community. It also provides an opportunity for participating agencies to collaborate and share information about advanced treatment procedures.
Since 2001, MDC Medical Campus has organized and hosted the competition honoring the life and legacy of the late Randy Boaz, an MDC instructor and one of the first paramedics in the United States with a career that started in the 1960s. Revered in the paramedic community, Boaz taught many of the specialists who have been part of the competition, although he passed away several years before the event was launched.
