MDC Homestead Campus Commemorates Holocaust Education Week with Political Cartoon Lecture

Miami, Jan. 26, 2017 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Homestead Campus joins the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial to commemorate its 15th season of Holocaust Education Week with a lecture by Dr. Rafael Medoff, director of the David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies. Dr. Medoff will present No Joking Matter: Political Cartoons and the Holocaust at 11:15 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at MDC’s Homestead Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

No Joking Matter: Political Cartoons and the Holocaust will provide insights into the Allies’ response to political cartoons published during the 1930s and 1940s. Dr. Medoff will discuss the role political cartoons play in society and politics and its relevance in the 21st Century.

Dr. Medoff is the founding director of The David S. Wyman Institue for Holocaust Studies and has authored or edited 16 books on American Jewish history, Zionism, and the Holocaust. For more information about his work and the Institute, please visit http://www.wymaninstitute.org/.
