Miami, Oct. 12, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) Homestead Campus in collaboration with the South Dade Chamber of Commerce will host a Health and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Homestead Campus. The event is free and open to the public and will feature activities for the entire family.
During the Fair, attendees will be able to speak with representatives from more than 30 local organizations and partners, such as Chrysalis Health; Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program; Le Jardin Community Center; Farm Worker Career Development Program; Catalyst Miami; One Blood and Homestead Baptist Hospital, which will address different aspects of the “Seven Dimensions of Wellness” ranging from physical, spiritual, emotional and professional to intellectual, social and environmental.
Students and faculty from MDC’s Physician Assistant, EMT and Nursing programs will offer vision, blood pressure and glucose screenings. Staff from the College’s Dental Hygiene Program will also be onsite to provide dental checkups and oral health tips.
Free COVID-19 inoculation will also be available to get the Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer vaccines.
