Miami, Jan. 3, 2017 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Benjamín León School of Nursing has received a Joan K. Stout research grant of $150,000 from the Hugoton Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase medication dispensing carts and incorporate curriculum changes for the use of this new technology which is now commonplace at area hospitals.
The grant, administered by the Hugoton Foundation, recognizes the importance of patient safety and the concern regarding medication errors, inventory control, and efficiencies required for quality nursing services.
