MDC and Judo Today Launch Program for Youth and Adults

Miami, Nov. 21, 2025 — Miami Dade College (MDC) and Judo Today have teamed up to launch Judo Today @ Miami Dade College, a new program aimed at transforming martial arts education for youth and adults across Miami-Dade County. The initiative combines world-class instruction with technical mastery and holistic personal development.

Set to begin on January 5, 2026, at MDC’s Kendall Campus—with a planned expansion to North Campus later in the year—Judo Today will offer a dynamic, level-based curriculum for children (ages 5–11), teens (12–17), and adults. The program provides tailored instruction from beginners to advanced practitioners.

“Programs like this illustrate the role of Continuing Education in providing innovative, impactful learning opportunities that meet community needs. Judo fosters discipline, focus, and respect—values that support youth development and strengthen the social fabric of our community,” said Enrique Infanzon, Dean of the School of Continuing Education and Professional Development at MDC.

Judo Today is designed to accommodate busy families and professionals with flexible scheduling Monday through Thursday. The program emphasizes progression, mentorship, and technical rigor, allowing participants to advance at their own pace under the guidance of certified instructors.

Program Highlights

  • World-Class Instruction: Led by certified Judo Today instructors, blending traditional Judo principles with modern training methods.
  • Personal Development: Cultivates discipline, resilience, leadership, strategic thinking, and respect alongside technical skills.
  • Community Engagement: Includes regular seminars and guest workshops.
  • Accessibility and Inclusion: Open to all skill levels and backgrounds, reflecting MDC’s commitment to community well-being.

“Judo is more than a sport—it is a system grounded in discipline, biomechanics, and strategic precision, with the goal of nurturing character and leadership. This program develops not only technical mastery but also the resilience and leadership qualities young people need to excel both on and off the mat,” said Héctor Lans, Founder of Judo Today.
