Idea Center at Miami Dade College to Host WebDev Graduation June 22

Miami, June 16, 2017 – The Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC) will host a graduation at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 22 of the latest cohort of its WebDev program, which allows participants to learn how to build responsive websites from the ground up.  The event is not open to the public, but the working media is welcome.

WebDev is a 10-week program that teaches Front-End Web Development to students with no prior experience in web development or programming. Most students complete the program to start pursuing a career in coding, to boost their current job using the skill as complementary knowledge, or build their own website or related business.

With a multi-language approach, instructors teach HTML/HTML5 to build the web page structure, and CSS3 to configure the style.  Instructors also introduce JavaScript and jQuery to generate dynamic content on the web page. Likewise, students are shown how to use tools such as Bootstrap and Templates, Web-Hosting & Uploading to deploy a website to the internet.

The students also developed three different projects to include in their portfolio. At the end of the program, the students can get career advisement and placement support.
