Distinguished Speakers to Inspire Graduates at Miami Dade College’s Commencement Ceremonies April 30

Miami, April 11, 2016 – With the potential to empower, encourage and inspire, commencement addresses are one of the most memorable and beloved moments for graduates and their families. On April 30, Miami Dade College (MDC) will host five commencement ceremonies where thousands of enthusiastic MDC graduates will hear from top leaders in various fields.

This year’s speakers include Mr. Julián Castro, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, who will speak at the day’s first ceremony for the Wolfson and Hialeah Campuses; Mr. Manny Medina, e-Merge founder, entrepreneur, and MDC alumnus at the InterAmerican and Homestead Campuses ceremony; Dr. Mark Everett, newly-appointed MDC’s Medical Campus President who will be speaking to graduates at the Medical Campus ceremony; Mr. Javier Palomarez, president and CEO of U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at the Kendall Campus ceremony; and the Honorable Mr. Jean Monestime, chair of the Miami-Dade County Commission, at the closing ceremony for North and West Campuses graduates.

With its longstanding tradition of hosting world leaders, prominent speakers, and luminaries, MDC graduations are significant, memorable, and symbolic. Past keynote speakers from the last few years include President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush, President Bill Clinton, and Vice President Joe Biden among other high-profile presenters.
