Come Celebrate 40 Years of the Miami Book Fair and Help Support its Next Chapter at Fundraiser Dinner Nov. 17

Miami, Nov. 8, 2023 – This year, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Book Fair celebrates its 40th anniversary serving as a cultural beacon for the South Florida community. To mark this special milestone and kick-off a new campaign to ensure its future, the Fair will host the Next Page celebration honoring six individuals who have been critical catalysts for Miami’s cultural growth on Friday, Nov. 17.

The celebration will recognize Dave Barry, Richard Blanco and Edwidge Danticat, three award-winning authors with strong ties to South Florida. Other honorees include writer, philanthropist and documentarian Kimberly Green, former Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald publisher and Knight Foundation outgoing president Alberto Ibargüen and David Lawrence Jr., former Miami Herald publisher and founder of the Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, three community leaders whose contributions to education, arts, and culture have made a positive, lasting impact.

This special event will also serve as an essential source of funding for the Next Decade campaign created to mark Miami Book Fair’s 40-year legacy and sustain the Fair’s work moving forward. The celebration will also include 40 of this year’s presenting authors, who will join guests at every table. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the Fair alongside authors and other book lovers!
