Tuyo Offers an Amazing Miami Spice Journey Around the World in 60 Days

Miami, July 22, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) exquisite and award-winning rooftop restaurant, Tuyo, will offer four different menus during Miami Spice that are inspired by the best cuisine from the four corners of the world. Created by Tuyo’s Executive Chef Victor Santos, a new three-course menu will be featured every two weeks. The first course on each menu – North, South, East, West – are shareable small plates that highlight various countries in those regions, while the signature dishes and desserts were selected among customer favorites.

The voyage begins with the North menu from August 2 – 13. Starters will include house-made Salmon Gravlax and Golden Beet Borscht. Main dishes feature Spice-encrusted Filet of Chilean Sea Bass on Corn Coulis, Buttermilk-brined Berkshire Pork Tenderloin and Carnaroli Risotto and Honshimeji Mushrooms. Choose from Meyer Lemon Crème Brulée or Warm Georgia Peach Cobbler for dessert.

The South menu follows from August 15 – Sept. 3. First plates will include Bacalao Fish Sticks served with saffron aioli, Organic Chicken Satay, Chilled Pea Soup, and Colombian Duck Empanadas. The Diver-Caught Black Grouper and Maine Lobster Ceviche; Pan-Roasted Moulard Duck Breast and a Vaudouvan Curry Vegan Stew are among main dishes. Dessert options include Cuatro Leches Cake Raspberry Cheesecake.

The East (Sept. 6 – 17) and West (Sept. 20 – 30) menus will be unveiled soon.

Located on the top floor of the Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) at MDC, Tuyo offers one of South Florida’s most elegant dining experiences, first-class service, and an unparalleled panoramic view of the downtown skyline and Biscayne Bay. The Miami Herald calls Tuyo “a smart addition to the Miami dining scene,” while Miami Magazine characterizes the restaurant as “a sexy, modern, Manhattan-meets-Miami space that is metropolitan and cozy.” Open Table diners regularly rate Tuyo as one of the city’s best eateries for ambiance, scenic views, romantic appeal, service, cuisine and overall experience. Tuyo also features an extensive list of wines from around the globe.

The Miami Spice promotion is $39 per person (not including beverage, tax or gratuity), and is available from 6-10 p.m. Tuesdays – Thursday; 6-10:30 p.m. Friday & Saturday from August 2 through September 30. Wine Pairing is $19 for two glasses. Miami Spice Cocktail is $10.
