Miami, May 3, 2016 – The Foundation for Pan-America Democracy in partnership with the Miami Herald and Miami Dade College (MDC) will host the Gala Dinner for Cuba Decide at MDC’s National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower on Thursday, May 12. The event will be presided by former Prime Minister of Spain, Mr. José María Aznar.
Distinguished guests will include former Colombian Presidents Andrés Pastrana and Álvaro Uribe, former Bolivian President Jorge Quiroga, and Cuban human rights activist Rosa María Payá. They will offer perspectives on Cuba’s current political situation and Cubans’ right to determine their own future. The forum aims to establish a link between democratic political leaders in Latin America and emerging young political leaders working for democracy in the region.
Cuba Decide is a non-partisan, inclusive, citizens’ initiative that promotes a binding plebiscite on the island so that Cubans can determine their social and political system.
