Summer 2018 Libra Internship Program Application Deadline for Miami Dade College Students is Approaching Dec. 11

Miami, Dec. 4, 2017– The Summer 2018 applications for the Libra Internship Program, which offers internship placements of up to four months’ duration for 100 students each year, including students from Miami Dade College (MDC), will close Dec. 11. Internship roles are available in areas such as finance, marketing, social responsibility, accounting, human resources, culinary and more.

The Libra Internship Program is open to currently enrolled associates and bachelor degree students at MDC provided they are 18 years of age or above and hold a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students have the opportunity to work in a number of national and international locations. The Libra Group Internships are highly sought after as they are paid and seen to be competitive with the opportunities they offer.

Participating interns work alongside industry professionals and each is assigned a dedicated mentor and ‘buddy.’ They gain practical experience and life skills that provide a better understanding of the professional workplace environment and standards. In addition, the fixed-term and structured program brings intern students into contact with top professionals in the field, while they receive on-the-job training and coaching to develop confidence and core skills. Students will broaden and explore career possibilities as well as establish a new network of professional contacts.

Four MDC students successfully completed the Summer 2017 program in a variety of fields across the United States and Central America.  Ines Carvajal was an accounting intern with Grace Hotels in Kennebunk, Maine; Amanda Jimenez was a hotel operations intern at the Grace Vanderbilt in Newport, Rhode Island; Jordan Llanes was a finance intern with Greenwood Energy intern in Panama City, Panama; and Emily Tsokopoulos was an accounting intern at Convergen Energy in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The summer 2018 application deadline is Dec. 11, at 5 p.m Eastern Time. Applications for the Winter 2019 program will be available online in early 2018. For more information, please visit www.librainternship.com.
