This summer, MDC will launch three unique initiatives for Miami-Dade high school students graduating in 2021. Fast Track Sharks is designed to help incoming freshmen transition to college by providing financial assistance, a strong academic foundation, individualized advisement, and a supportive learning environment. Incoming students will be able to register for up to six college credits toward an associate degree at no cost. The program also provides up to $600 toward course materials, the chance to complete service-learning hours, and be trained to mentor future Fast Track Sharks participants. The Next Tech Generation program will provide high school students graduating in 2021 free tuition, book stipend and industry certification support for technology summer classes. In addition to hundreds of degree pathways leading to associate and bachelor’s degrees, MDC also offers numerous short-term courses and programs to develop workforce skills, certifications in growing industries, apprenticeships, and digital badges. Major studies have shown that those individuals who fared the best economically during and post the pandemic were those with college experience and credentials. Obtaining a college degree, digital badge, short term certificate or industry certification has never been more important.
Classes will continue to be available in four modalities – MDC LIVE, MDC Blended, MDC Online and in-person. Financial aid and many scholarships are available. Learn more about class options here.
