Public Notice – Notice of Meeting – District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College and Notice of Rulemaking

The  District  Board  of  Trustees  of  Miami  Dade  College  will  hold  its  monthly  meeting  on  Tuesday,  October 24, 2023.   The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m.  The meeting will    be held at the Wolfson Campus located at 300 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida   in the James K. Batten Community Room (Room 2106) and via livestream at https://www.mdc.edu/livestream.

During the meeting, The District Board of Trustees will consider the amendment of the below Rule:

RULE NUMBER /TITLE:
 V-50 – Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Unmanned Aircraft and Model Aircraft) Operation

RULE SUMMARY:
The amended Rule will update the Legal Authority to include the FAA Reform Authorization Act of 2018. It will also add inclusions under the Certificate of Insurance for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operators to include The District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College, Florida as an additional insured.

LAWS IMPLEMENTED
FAA Modernization and Reform Act 2012 (Public Law 112-95);
FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018; and
Section 934.50, Florida Statutes (“Searches and Seizure Using a  Drone – Freedom from Unwarranted  Surveillance Act”)
