Miami Dade College’s Virtual College to Offer Four New Bachelor’s Online in Spring 2016

Miami, October 19, 2015Miami Dade College’s (MDC) award-winning Virtual College will now offer four additional bachelor’s degree programs online beginning in the 2016 Spring Semester in Information Systems Technology, Supervision and Management, Supply Chain Management, and Public Safety Management. With the exception of the Information Systems Technology program, all others are also available in accelerated format.

MDC’s online bachelor’s programs are unique in that they are 100% online (no campus visits required for testing nor advising) and there is the option to mix and match online classes with on campus classes. With the accelerated option, students can take four 8-week online courses in one academic term; two 8-week courses in the first 8 weeks and two courses in the second 8 weeks.

About the degree programs:

The Information Systems Technology degree prepares professionals with systems management and development expertise. Students will graduate with the critical skills and knowledge to support the design, planning and management of information infrastructures and resources within diverse organizational settings.

The degree in Supervision and Management provides an opportunity for students completing an associate’s degree to seamlessly complete a bachelor’s degree. Graduates of this program will be prepared with the abilities and skills needed to succeed as a manager or supervisor in the dynamic and global business environment. The Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in Management and Supervision prepares graduates with the hands-on training necessary to meet workforce demands.

The Supply Chain Management degree is designed to provide knowledge of the supply chain, while exploring logistics, regulatory issues, change and inventory management, forecasting, resource allocation, production planning and other functions basic to business in this hot and bourgeoning field. Graduates with this degree will find many employment opportunities in a broad spectrum of occupational specialties within the supply chain, logistics and transportation fields.

MDC’s bachelor’s program in Public Safety Management is a one-of-kind degree, combining online coursework with practical hands-on experience. The program offers seven applied tracks of study encompassing a variety of components that prepare students for both a career entry and graduate school. Students may choose from several tracks: Law Enforcement, Corrections, Probation and Parole, Security and Loss Prevention, Emergency Management, Crime Scene Investigation or Criminal Justice.

MDC’s Virtual College, headquartered at the Wolfson Campus, offers an extensive catalog of exciting degree programs and certificates. Virtual College students may also complete a variety of College Credit Certificates and Associate in Science degrees or their Associate in Arts completely online.
