Miami Dade College’s Trailblazing Tech, Innovation and Entrepreneurial Programs to Take Center Stage once again at eMerge Americas 2018

Miami, April 18, 2018 Miami Dade College’s (MDC) most trailblazing technology, innovation and entrepreneurial programs and its students will take center stage once again at eMerge Americas 2018, April 23 and 24, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Stop by the MDC booth to learn how to prepare for the careers of the future and explore the very latest programs in cybersecurity, business intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, digital forensics, mechatronics, virtual and augmented reality, digital marketing, the Internet of things, and much more!  MDC will also host the thrilling Hackathon challenge Saturday and Sunday, April 21 – 22, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami, which has traditionally served as the eMerge kick-off.

Echoing the conference’s mission of creating a global idea exchange focusing on technology and innovation, connecting revolutionary start-ups, ideas and leaders, MDC will showcase its latest programs aimed at building a knowledge economy, fostering innovation and meeting workforce needs. MDC will also provide thought leadership sessions on the Launch Pad and Texpert stages as well as guide a discussion on the next frontier of digitization on the main stage.

MDC’s new Cybersecurity Center and Cyber Range is one of many programs that will be featured at eMerge Americas 2018. MDC has partnered with Cyberbit, the world’s leading provider of hyper-realistic cyber range platforms, to open its Cybersecurity Center in fall 2018. The center will feature South Florida’s first Cyber Range – a virtual environment used for cyberwarfare training and cybertechnology development – to provide trainees with hands-on instruction in a simulation platform.

MDC technology students will demonstrate how they are harnessing the power of technology to program, design and prototype connected devices. Showcase of IoT students’ inventions using Raspberry Pi and student share their experiences working in IT.  

Launchpad Session: MDC Fostering Innovation in our Community

Monday, April 23, from 4 – 4:30 p.m.

This 30-minute showcase will demonstrate that talent is indeed universal and that innovation depends on equity and diversity, with the Idea Center committed to leveling the playing field. Features showcase by three Idea Center students and alumni, AR/VR Pictionary with audience using AR/VR.
