Miami, Nov. 2, 2017 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Justice, Public Safety and Law Studies, will host a career fair on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., at North Campus with more than 30 municipal, state and federal agencies, which are actively seeking qualified candidates for employment. The event is free and open to the public.
MDC’s School of Justice has proactively worked to address the looming threat of the shortage of police personnel in local, state and federal agencies. It has opened its doors to agencies hiring police candidates and held several recruiting events and job fairs. Agency job postings are distributed via the School of Justice’ social media pages and bulletin boards.
All agencies are encouraged to come and recruit free of charge at MDC’s North campus, to identify top, future law enforcement professionals and avert the shortage crisis.
To address the critical need to hire qualified, diverse and talented law enforcement officers, the School of Justice has implemented numerous initiatives. The School of Justice has instituted Legitimacy, Procedural Justice and De-escalation into the curriculum of its police academy. These critical competencies add meaningful value and job readiness for the more than 280 highly trained recruits our School of Justice graduates each year.
The renowned School of Justice at the North Campus has been training and educating public safety professionals for the past 41 years, domestically and internationally. More than 80 percent of all public safety professionals in Miami-Dade County have been trained at the School of Justice. The school offers associates degrees in criminal justice, a Bachelor in Applied Science degree in public safety management with seven specialized tracks, college credit certificates in homeland security and crime scene technology, certifications in basic law enforcement, corrections and firefighter, and private security, and specialized executive leadership training and assessment services.
