Miami Dade College’s North Campus to Host Free College for a Day, Sept. 29

Miami, Sept. 12, 2018Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus again invites students and the community to experience Free College for a Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Participants will learn first-hand what it is like to be a college student by engaging in a variety of interactive workshops in various fields while interacting with current college students.

“MDC is an educational institution that belongs to our students and the community. Our priority is to ensure everyone can obtain a credential and join the workforce with the knowledge and experiences that will allow them to contribute to the growth of our communities” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, president of the North and InterAmerican campuses.

Attendees will enjoy free classes in several topics including criminal justice, science, technology, film, art, and business, and will experience college life with our faculty with a “One-Day Family Pass.”  They will participate in workshops on computer skills, parent-child interactions, interviewing skills, resume writing, and how to pay for college.   Finally, at the MDC’s Resource Fair, participants will experience student life, engage with student leaders and organizations, and meet support team members from financial aid, student success center, advisement, and admissions.
