Miami Dade College’s InterAmerican Campus to Host Peace Poster Contest Nov. 18

Miami, Nov. 1, 2017 – For its eight-consecutive year, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus will host the Lions International District 35-N Peace Poster Contest on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m.

This year, the Lions of District 35-N will have nearly 30 entries by students ages 11 to 13, from South Florida and the Bahamas. They have all depicted their version of this year’s theme The Future of Peace.  All entries will be on display on Saturday, Nov. 18 and one winner will be selected by a panel of faculty judges from MDC. That winner entry will be sent to the next competition level and will receive a certificate and a cash prize.

Lions Club International is celebrating 100 years of service, bringing together more than 300,000 students worldwide yearly since the creation of the Peace Poster Contest in 1988. The contest goes through an elimination process by schools, clubs, Lions’ District, and ultimately, a final winner will be selected at the annual Lions Day at the United Nations in New York City.
