Miami, Sept. 1, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will partner with Lumu Technologies, a cybersecurity company founded and headquartered in South Florida, to prepare students for careers in cybersecurity by providing internships and hands-on experience with a new cutting-edge technology.
The collaboration will further strengthen the South Florida technology ecosystem by providing students the opportunity to remain in the region and work with one of the most innovative companies in cybersecurity.
“The Cybersecurity Center of the Americas is focused on ensuring that students train on the latest technology,” said Jorge Ortega, director of the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas at MDC. “This collaboration with Lumu Technologies will further this goal by providing MDC students premium access to a new and innovative technology that will better prepare them to enter the workforce.”
Working closely with faculty and an advisory board of industry professionals, the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas at MDC focuses on creating programs for degree-seeking and continuing education students of all skill levels. Additionally, the Center provides guidance to students looking to enter or advance with the cybersecurity field. For more info, visit https://www.mdc.edu/cybersecurity/
Lumu, a Doral-based company, secures networks by enhancing and augmenting existing defense capabilities. Students will be able to use Lumu Continuous Compromise Assessment model that is designed to help organizations measure compromise in real time. Students will also have access to the Lumu Academy, which consists of self-paced online courses.
“We are excited to form this partnership with MDC and support their commitment to helping students find careers that have incredible impact in our present and future,” said Ricardo Villadiego, CEO and Founder of Lumu. “Cybersecurity is a space that needs innovation, talent and transformative tools to combat today’s cyber landscape. Unfortunately, the education sector, including colleges and universities remain a big target. We hope we can impact the student’s life but also help MDC strengthen its posture against cybercrime with our solution.”
Lumu’s Continuous Compromise Assessment model was first introduced to the market in February 2020 and has more than 1,700 customers that have adopted the model across the Americas. To learn more about Lumu, visit https://lumu.io/
