Miami Dade College to Illuminate Freedom Tower Red in Support of World AIDS Day

Miami, Nov. 30, 2018 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower Red for World AIDS Day on Saturday, Dec. 1, at sunset, to bring awareness to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Around the world, about 37 million people are living with HIV.  In the United States, approximately 44,000 people get infected with HIV every year.  Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day is dedicated to raise awareness, fight prejudice, improve education about HIV, and mourn those who have died of the disease.
