Miami, Oct. 12, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its Historic Landmark Freedom Tower red at sunset on Saturday, Oct. 23, to kick-off national Red Ribbon Week®, Oct. 23- 31, in support of Informed Families. American Airlines Arena and Miami Tower will also be illuminated in support of the Red Ribbon Campaign®, which is now the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people each year.
This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme, Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free™, amplifies the campaign’s mission to encourage children, families and communities to live healthy, happy and drug-free lives. It also serves as a reminder that everyone is empowered with shaping their communities through positivity, bravery and strength.
