Miami Dade College to Illuminate Freedom Tower Blue in Support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Miami, March 7, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower blue at sunset, Friday, April 1, in support of Amigos for Kids’ efforts to end child abuse and strengthen families as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month (NCAPM).

For 30 years, Amigos for Kids has been dedicated to primary prevention of child abuse and neglect through programs that empower and value children, support families, and educate communities.

“We have a shared responsibility to work together to ensure the children in our community can thrive and April is a time to collaborate to raise awareness and empower people to support families so children can grow up safe, healthy and happy,” said Karina Pavone, Amigos for Kids President and CEO.

Throughout the month, Amigos for Kids along with its community partners and supporting organizations will intensify its year-round efforts to raise public awareness with the message “Every day, we help families and children thrive.”
