Miami Dade College to Illuminate Freedom Tower Blue for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Miami, Aug. 26, 2019 Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its historic Freedom Tower blue at sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 3, for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in collaboration with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF).

About one in every nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. In most cases, it is treatable if detected early. PCF’s national “light blue” campaign aims to raise awareness about prostate cancer and lifesaving exams by illuminating major landmarks in blue. Last year, more than 40 landmarks/buildings in 25 states across the country participated, including the Wrigley Building, the Miami Tower, the Delaware State Capitol, and Bank of America Dallas, among others.

Since its inception in 1993, the PCF has become the world’s leading nonprofit organization funding and accelerating prostate cancer research. For more information, visit www.pcf.org.
