Miami Dade College to Illuminate Freedom Tower Blue for Amigos for Kids

Miami, April 12, 2016Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower blue on Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19, in support of Amigos for Kids’ efforts to end child abuse and strengthen families. The Freedom Tower will be illuminated at sunset.

“Since 1991, Amigos for Kids has advocated for the prevention of child abuse and neglect— a heartbreaking national epidemic,” said Rosa Maria Plasencia, President and CEO of Amigos for Kids. “We are fortunate to count with the support of our community to help raise awareness of the devastating effects of child maltreatment. Amigos for Kids is grateful to MDC for lighting the iconic Freedom Tower blue, during national child abuse prevention month, in honor of the victims of child abuse and neglect.”
