Miami Dade College President to Participate in Panel on Creating Innovative Pathways to Success for Diverse Communities

Miami, Sept. 29, 2022 – In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Miami Dade College (MDC) will partner with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to present Creating Innovative Pathways to Success for Diverse Communities on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m.  The panel will discuss how cloud computing is the sustainable workforce development model that is opening doors for non-traditional diverse candidates, meeting industry needs, and supporting local community economic vitality. This event is free and open to the public.

Panelists will include MDC President Madeline Pumariega; Robert Lescano, AWS Professional Services Director; Michael Fowler, Florida Power & Light Company’s Vice President of Information Technology; and Beau Williamson, Slalom General Manager Florida.

The MDC-AWS collaboration is currently the national benchmark for higher education institutions interested in developing cloud computing skills. This successful collaboration was recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) with the Outstanding College/Corporate Partnership Award in 2022.
