Miami Dade College Presents the World Strategic Forum April 19 – 20

MDC’s President and students will participate in education and innovation plenary sessions.

Miami, April 4, 2017 – Miami Dade College (MDC) and the International Economic Forum of the Americas will present the 7th World Strategic Forum April 19 & 20, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. With the theme “Mastering Change, Reigniting Growth,” the forum will address the major issues facing the global economy today while discussing prospects for resilient growth and shared prosperity for the future.

Nearly a hundred speakers are confirmed for this year’s World Strategic Forum. Bringing together world leaders, legislators, economists, Fortune 500 CEOs and world-class experts, the two-day forum will serve as a platform for dialogue, corporate insight and collaboration on the central issues affecting the world’s economy at various sessions, roundtables and networking events.

MDC’s President, Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, will join the panel on Preparing the Workforce of the Future session at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, presented by MDC and the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE). The session will discuss the critical role of education and workforce training in the 21st century and creating alternative sources of funding, promoting tech innovation in instruction and deepening industry partnerships to reduce the education-to-employment gap.

Other sessions include The Global Economy: Responding to Uncertainty; Cultivating an Ecosystem of Entrepreneurship and Advancing the Energy Transition in the Americas, among others.
