Miami Dade College Presents Nanchang University Performing Troupe

Miami, April 4, 2013Miami Dade College (MDC) will present the Nanchang University Performing Troupe as part of MDC’s Confucius Institute Performance Tour, sponsored by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing. The 20-member, Chinese troupe will perform two shows on Thursday, April 11, at MDC’s Kendall and North Campuses.

This event is co-sponsored by MDC’s Confucius Institute and Student Life departments at Kendall and North Campuses. Free and open to the public.

Nanchang University Performing Troupe is one of the most renowned college performing troupes from central China. Composed of students studying dance, music, drama, and other performing arts disciplines, the troupe has been performing for more than a decade and offers a variety of programs, including Chinese folk dances and songs, instrumental performances, Chinese local drama, and Chinese martial arts. The group has participated at major arts and cultural festivals in Jiangxi Province and central China, and the key performers of the troupe have won various prestigious awards at China’s regional and national competitions.
