Miami, Jan. 30, 2018 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus, in collaboration with Healthy Hearts Initiative, a non-profit organization seeking to change the course of cardiovascular disease for underserved communities in South Florida, will once again host the Heart Fair on Wednesday, February 7, 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

More than 800 participants are expected, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, community members, and industry partners.  The event will take place during National Heart Month and all attendees are encouraged to wear red to promote the importance of heart health.

The fair will highlight a wide-array of speakers, ranging from cardiologists to fitness coaches, who will discuss heart related topics.    This year will also highlight patients’ testimonials on living with heart disease.  The goal is that participants gain the tools necessary to maintain their vital organ functional and healthy.

Visitors will be able to participate in presentations that will provide education to save lives and better their own.  CPR demonstrations and health screenings will also be available for all participants free of charge.  Screenings include: Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Heart Rhythms, Pulse Ox, Glucose, and Cholesterol.
