Miami, June 2, 2016- The Miami Dade College (MDC) School of Business and the Single Stop Program will host a Home Buyer Workshop presented by the Housing Finance Authority (HFA) of Miami-Dade County from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 8 at MDC’s North Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The HFA provides low interest rate financing for first-time homebuyers throughout Miami-Dade County. Since its inception in 1978, the HFA has helped finance over 17,000 rental units and $1.2 billion funds for single family mortgages.
“We are opening our doors to home buying specialists so our students, faculty, staff, and community residents can seriously consider if home ownership is right for them,” said Dr. Malou Harrison, MDC North Campus President. “A quick overview during a brown-bag lunch session could change and improve the lives and wealth for the families in our community.”
Topics discussed during the complimentary workshop will include finding the right home, credit, obtaining a mortgage, down payment assistance, and more.
