Miami Dade College is Ready for Campus Safety Awareness Month

Miami, Sept.  20, 2019Miami Dade College (MDC) will observe National Campus Safety Awareness Month (NCSAM) during the month of September. This years’ theme is centered on “Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility.” Public Safety Departments will host several events, which are open to the public.

This weeklong initiative will include partnerships with several governmental entities such as the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Highway Patrol, the City of Miami PD, and the City of Doral PD, to name a few.  Activities will include training, distribution of literature, demonstrations, and briefings. Topics include identity theft, trauma & injury prevention, suicide prevention, sexual assault awareness, texting & driving (traffic safety) and several emergency preparedness presentations.

During the week of Sept. 23 – 27 each campus will host daily demonstrations and visual displays pertaining to safety and preparedness. Events include:
