Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus to Host Florida College Goal Sunday

Miami, Feb. 18, 2016 – Low-income and first-generation students hoping to attend college will find a path to financial assistance during Florida College Goal Sunday on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Hialeah Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

 MDC’s financial aid experts and other colleges throughout the state will offer information on available financial aid, answer questions, and assist students and their families to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a form required for any student seeking federal financial aid, including grants and loans.

Florida College Goal Sunday takes place at multiple locations across the state.  Students receive step- by-step instructions for completing and submitting their FAFSA, along with their Florida Financial Aid Application.

 College Goal Sunday is a national volunteer program to help students and families who need assistance in completing financial aid forms and focuses on helping low-income, first generation students

VITA representatives will also be available to help individuals complete their tax returns.
