Miami, Aug. 23, 2017 – As Miami Dade College (MDC) gets ready to welcome more than 100,000 students for the 2017 fall term on Monday, Aug. 28, the start of the new academic year, trailblazing programs await that will equip them with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the new innovation economy.
MDC’s eight campuses and major outreach center offer more than 300 academic pathways leading to bachelor’s degrees, associate in arts and science degrees and numerous career training certificates, as well as a growing Virtual College. MDC’s growing bachelor’s degree options include supply chain management, information systems technology, biological sciences; electronics engineering; film, television & digital production; nursing; several education tracks; physician assistant studies; public safety; and supervision and management.
Each semester MDC expands its academic and cultural enrichment offerings. And the 2017 fall term promises to be one of the most exciting yet. MDC will offer several new College Credit Certificates to prepare students for emerging and in-demand careers, including in virtual/augmented reality, computer crime investigations, engineering technology support specialist, mechatronics, rapid prototyping specialist, audio technology, fire fighter /emergency medical technician, and much more.
MDC will also host its annual, beloved Miami Book Fair (November 2017) and Miami Film Festival (March 2018), among other exciting cultural events. Check the MDC website regularly to learn more about college news and upcoming events.
To satisfy the needs of our growing student body, MDC extended information center hours and offer on-site registration on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – noon, until Sept. 9. Students are able to meet with advisors, register for classes, explore financial aid options, and pay tuition. MDC will also have special welcome kiosks the first week of class at all campuses to guide students as they arrive on campus.
