Miami, May 23, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) announces collaboration with Microsoft to launch a new Cloud Skills Challenge, a 30-day accelerated learning environment where participants acquire and expand skills in cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data analytics through Microsoft Learn modules, online workshops and in-person courses, all while competing with others. Free and open to the public, the Challenge begins June 2.
“This collaboration with Microsoft builds on our mission to make education accessible to all and equip students and the community with the necessary skills to obtain high-paying jobs, especially in emerging technology fields,” said MDC President Madeline Pumariega.
The Cloud Skills Challenge offers multiple avenues to learn, including self-paced online through the Microsoft Learn platform, and instructor-led courses through MDC’s School of Continuing Education. Participants will learn and improve abilities in designing and implementing an Azure AI solution; building cloud-native apps; modernizing web apps; and much more!
Microsoft Learn is a place to learn, discover new skills, find certifications, and complete interactive, hands-on learning paths to advance one’s career.
Those who complete a Challenge course are eligible to sit at no cost for the Microsoft certification related to the course, including Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals and Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
“Microsoft is thrilled to further our relationship with Miami Dade College to deliver the Cloud Skills Challenge to students across the district. We hope the students will continue to explore potential careers in the tech sector and engage in work that showcases the power of innovation and technology’s impact on the larger world,” said Lydia Smyers, Vice President, Education at Microsoft.
