Miami Dade College Co-Presents Demand Solutions, Convening Top Innovators from Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean

Miami, Oct. 4, 2017 – Miami Dade College (MDC), in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will host Demand Solutions: Ideas for Improving Lives on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. Presentations will be held in either English or Spanish with translations available. This event is free and open to the public with registration.

The conference brings together the most creative minds in the world to discuss and share innovative solutions to address developmental challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prominent speakers include Natasha Tsakos, Florida-based conceptual director, interactive designer, and motion and visual performance artist from Geneva, Switzerland; Felipe Pimiento, COO of Magnus Media; Grace Ramirez, Miami-born chef raised in Venezuela; Angie Cohen, DesignLab Miami founder; Franz Fredudenthal, Bolivian physician, inventor and philanthropist whose work has been focused on treating infants with heart problems.

In addition, 13 startups from Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean will showcase their solutions for improving lives at the Startups Competition. They were selected from 300 applicants, from 27 countries and will also participate in two days of activities with mentors, entrepreneurs and investors.

Since its creation in 2013, Demand Solutions has convened more than 7,000 innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, and thinkers from more than 30 countries on four continents.
