Miami, March 9, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) and the law firm Nelson Mullins have partnered to host the inaugural Women in FinTech (WinFin) Conference on Thursday, March 31, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at MDC’s The Idea Center in downtown Miami. In celebration of Women’s History Month, WinFin2022 will feature panels with nationally-recognized thought leaders who will share insights on FinTech’s global development. MDC President Madeline Pumariega will deliver welcome remarks. The event is open to the public, but registration is required.
Financial technology, or FinTech, describes new tech that seeks to improve and automate the delivery and use of financial services. WinFin2022 aims to provide a space for fellow innovators to meet and recognize women in FinTech. The conference is an initiative produced by Nelson Mullins to support and present women as leaders in FinTEch. Leading the firm’s efforts are partners Katherine Baker and Erin Kolmansberger, associates Megan Kilissanly and Rebecca Lester, and Richard Levin, who chairs the firm’s FinTech and Regulation practice.
The conference is co-hosted with MDC’s state-of-the-art BIT Center explores the role of technology in digital transformation, process automation, and analytics in the ever-changing business landscape. The BIT Center is an initiative of MDC’s Miguel B. Fernandez Family School of Global Business, Trade & Transportation and offers various programs and courses in three core areas – marketing and digital marketing; banking and finance; and industry certifications.
