Miami Dade College and Florida Immigration Coalition to Host Free DACA Information Sessions and Renewal Clinic

Miami, Sept. 25, 2017- Miami Dade College (MDC), in collaboration with the Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC), will offer students and the community free information sessions regarding the renewal of their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status on Monday, Sept. 25 through Wednesday, Sept. 27.  MDC will also offer a free DACA Renewal Assistance Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 30.

DACA recipients with work permits expiring between Sept. 5 and March 5, 2018 have until Oct. 5 to renew.  MDC’s Renewal Assistance Clinic will provide free legal assistance and financial assistance for those who qualify.

During the free renewal information sessions, participants will learn about the requirements and documents needed to apply for renewal, and receive an update on the DACA program and immigration relief.  DACA/immigration advocates and experts will also be on-hand to answer any questions.

12 – 1 p.m.                              300 N.E. Second Ave.

6 – 7 p.m.

The free DACA Renewal Assistance Clinic will allow participants to receive free legal advice, meet with DACA/immigration advocates and experts, and for a limited number of low-income applicants to apply to have DACA renewal fees of $495 covered by the FLIC.
