MDC’s West Campus Presents Chiaroscuro Atelier Exhibition

Miami, April 18, 2018- Miami Dade College’s (MDC) West Campus will present Third, a group exhibition by art studio Chiaroscuro Atelier, that will include the works of graduate students and their instructors.  The exhibition opens Thursday, April 26 and will remain on display through Thursday, May 17.  It is free and open to the public.

Based in Doral, Chiaroscuro Atelier offers top level instruction in realistic painting and drawing. The studio follows the teaching methods of the 19th century French Ateliers for drawing and painting. The studio’s instructors, Elkin Cañas, Carlos Martinez-León and Milixa Morón, are graduates of The Florence Academy of Art and The Angel Academy; two of the most prestigious art academies in the world located in Florence, Italy.  This exhibition displays the work of graduate students and the level of mastery they have achieved during three years of study.

The mission of Chiaroscuro Atelier is to promote a return to discipline in the learning stages of art. By teaching traditional, time-tested methods that give students a strong foundation in the comprehension of drawing and painting principles.
