Miami, Aug. 31, 2018 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will present Psychology & Medicine: Culture Clash & Health Care Solution, the first presentation of the 2018-19 STEMversations Career Speaker Series featuring Dr. Benjamin Bensadon, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 12-1 p.m. An accomplished clinician, professor, and researcher, Dr. Bensadon will address the importance and challenge of integrating biomedical and psychosocial care in the health care field.
The STEMversation Career Speaker Series endeavors to bring experts from the entire spectrum of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to MDC to share their knowledge with the students and the community. The series exposes attendees to new perspectives and developments in these fields and provides students an opportunity to connect with STEM professionals from many specialties. The series is part of the MDC’s STEM Community of Interest and is sponsored by the US Department of Education STEM ISLE and STEM EngInE Grants.
Dr. Bensadon is a licensed psychologist with specialties in geriatrics, primary care, and behavioral health. He began his distinguished career as a pre-doctoral intern and research associate at Lehigh University before undertaking two post-doctoral internships: clinical geropsychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a clinical research fellowship at the Oklahoma Health Sciences Center at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Bensadon is an Assistant Professor of Integrated Medical Science and Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Geriatrics & Palliative Care Rotation in the Department of Integrated Medical Sciences at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. He has his own community-based clinical practice in Boca Raton providing consultation, assessment, and education services related to aging and memory care to individuals both directly and indirectly impacted by their effects.
