Miami, Sept. 25, 2017– Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus presents Anchoring Our Voice: An Intimate Chat with acclaimed WPLG Anchor and Reporter Louis Aguirre at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3. The event is free and open to the public.
The event is a part of several planned activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Oct. Aguirre will share his life experience in the world of television during a candid interview. Actress and TV personality Vivian Ruiz, who is also an MDC acting/theater professor, will serve as host.
Aguirre has worked on national and local television news shows such as Fox and Friends, Deco Drive, and most recently, national-syndicated entertainment program The Insider. Besides his news career, Aguirre has guest starred on hit shows such as Sex and the City, J.A.G., Burn Notice, Guiding Light, and All My Children. Aguirre has returned to South Florida and co-anchors the Local 10 News’ weekday 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. newscasts and reports for the 11 p.m. newscast.
