Miami, FL, Nov. 17, 2020 — Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will host its first Virtual Career Exploration and Education Mini Conference for high school students, parents, working professionals, and prospective college students seeking a better understanding of career choices and related degree and certificate programs. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19, 6 – 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
The Virtual Career Exploration and Education Mini Conference will gather successful MDC alumni from major corporations and other industry professionals, as well as MDC faculty, admissions, financial aid, and academic leaders for conversations on bridging career choices, opportunities, and education and to provide career, academic, financial, and other resource information to help attendees achieve their goals and objectives.
“We’re excited to host the Virtual Career Exploration and Education Mini Conference for current and future job seekers to learn about in-demand career options, knowledge and skills requirements, and how Miami Dade College bridges career gaps through educational opportunities,” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, MDC North Campus President. “There is no better time than now to begin prepping for future employment opportunities, and the first step is obtaining information at this event featuring top industry professionals, MDC faculty and staff.”
Workshop topics will include careers, occupations, and employment trends for planning, finding the right career pathway, the importance of creating the right digital presence, and self-motivating to impress. Also, there will be presentations about college degrees and certificates in areas of study such as Arts, Humanities, Communication, and design, business, education, health sciences/medical, public safety, criminal justice, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and social and behavioral science/human services.
