MDC’s Miami Fashion Institute Presents Fashion Designer Ronaldo Fraga

Miami, Nov. 22, 2019 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Fashion Institute (MFI) will host a talk by renowned Brazilian fashion designer Ronaldo Fraga at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, as part of its Innovators in Fashion speaker series. This event is free and open to working media.

Recognized by his trademark black glasses and mustache that also grace his logo, Fraga is one of the most celebrated fashion designers in Brazil. After graduating with a degree in fashion from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, he went on to complete post-graduate studies at the Parsons School of Art and Design in New York and Central Saint Martins in London.

Fraga’s fun and colorful womenswear designs made their way to Sao Paulo Fashion Week and took off in many forms from there. His creations have been featured in everything from museum exhibitions and ballet productions to films, books and countless articles. Dedicated to connecting Brazilian culture to the contemporary world, Fraga received a culture award from the Brazilian government in 2007 for supporting and promoting the country in his work. Today his brand is applied to more than 1,000 different products in Brazil.

MFI is an international fashion hub and the only one of its kind at a public higher learning institution in Florida.
