Miami, April 2, 2019 – Registration is now open for the Miami Writers Institute, an annual creative writing conference produced by the acclaimed Miami Book Fair (MBF) at Miami Dade College (MDC), which features leading trendsetters in the literary world. The conference features intensive writing workshops with bestselling authors, craft talks, publishing seminars, manuscript consultations with an editor, and happy hour events from May 8 – 11, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.
This year’s workshops range from 1-day seminars to 4-day series and include:
- Craft & Voice: A Poetry Workshop with Ilya Kaminsky
- Experimental Writing for Non-Experimental Writers with Porochista Khakpour
- Screenwriting Inside Out with Julia Solomonoff
- The Wildness and Carefulness of Writing a Novel with Moriel Rothman-Zecher
- What We Remember: A Workshop on Character and Memory in Fiction with Angela Flournoy
- Manuscript Consultations with Melissa Danaczko
- Film Screening & Discussion with Writer/Director Julia Solomonoff
- First Draft: A Literary Social with Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
- An Evening with the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 Honorees
- Craft Talk Series

Registrations fees range from $20 for one day of Craft Talks to $500 for full access to workshops and events throughout the weekend.
