MDC’s Medical Campus to Host Free Food Distribution During Summer Celebration July 2

Miami, June 19, 2018Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Medical Campus will host a free food distribution event at 11 a.m., Monday, July 2. The event is presented by Community of Interest in partnership with Student Life. It will showcase student support services and “kickoff” the campus’ onsite food pantry. There will be activites, music, prepared food and non-perishable items to give away to store for hurricane season and other emergencies.

The Single Stop food pantry offers current students and their household an alternative relief from hardship. The purpose of the food pantry is to ensure students stay focused on their academic studies despite any untimely adversities they may encounter while pursuing a degree. Students will be provided with various non-perishable items from the pantry.

Donations made by staff, faculty, members of the community and student groups are encouraged. Food will be available on a first come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
