MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Series Presents Trumpeter Scott Wendholt March 13

Miami, March 4, 2019 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with Trumpeter Scott Wendholt, who will perform at noon, Wednesday, March 13, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus, in downtown Miami.

Trumpeter Scott Wendholt has worked with artists including Vincent Herring, Kenny Garrett, Cyrus Chestnut, Christian McBride, Don Braden and Bruce Barth. To his credit, he has appeared on more than 90 CDs and has received critical acclaim with five recordings as a leader. Much in demand on the big band scene as well, his list of credits includes The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra (formerly Thad Jones/Mel Lewis), Manhattan Jazz Orchestra, The Carnegie Hall Jazz Band (led by Jon Faddis), John Fedchock NY Big Band, Gotham Jazz Orchestra (Mike Holober), Toshiko Akiyoshi Big Band and the Bob Mintzer Big Band.

Wendholt is part of the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music as well as the Jamey Aebersold summer jazz camps. He is also a sought-after player and clinician at many learning institutions around the world.

“It is truly a pleasure to have a musician of Scott’s caliber come to our campus and perform,” said Dr. Michael Di Liddo. “He is an incredible talent and a solid musician with a wealth of performance experience. This concert will not be one to miss.”
