MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents Pianist Misha Tsiganov Nov. 10

Miami, Oct. 28, 2021 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with pianist Misha Tsiganov, who will perform live at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 10, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus. All Jazz at Wolfson Presents concerts are free and open to the public.

Grammy-nominated Tsiganov has recorded more than 100 albums with various artists, including Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Gary Bartz, Chico Freeman and Alex Sipiagin. As a lead performer, he has recorded ten albums, featuring artists Alex Sipiagin, Seamus Blake, Donny McCaslin, Hendrik Meurkens, Boris Kozlov, Hans Glawischnig and Matt Brewer, among others. He was a featured pianist for the Nickelodeon animated TV series Little Bill, performed on the 2004 album NGFOOT (Nine Guys from Out of Town), and was also the featured pianist for legendary drummer Joe Chambers.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tsiganov, who began playing the piano at age six, came from a family of artists; his father was a sculptor and his mother a music teacher. He is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Mussorgsky College of Music and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
