MDC’s InterAmerican Campus and Lions Clubs International to Host Peace Poster Contest

Miami, Nov. 16, 2018Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus, in partnership with Lions Clubs International (District 35-N), will host the ninth edition of the Peace Poster Contest, Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. The competition encourages children to depict and share their visions of peace.

This year’s contest, titled Kindness Matters, will showcase nearly 25 entries submitted by students 11 to 13 years-old from South Florida, Aruba, Bahamas, Bonaire & Curacao. Designs will be on display and will be judged by a panel of faculty members from MDC’s InterAmerican Campus. The winning entry will enter the State competition and will receive a certificate and a cash prize.

Since its creation in 1988, the Peace Poster Contest brings together more than 300,000 students from around the world. The contest goes through various stages starting at the school level, clubs, Lions’ district, and culminates with a final international selection held at the annual Lions Day at the United Nations (LDUN) in New York City.
