MDC’s Idea Center Offers Free Information Session for Scale Up Miami, Small Business Training Program

Miami, June 19, 2018 –  Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Idea Center will host a free information session on Wednesday, June 27, for Scale Up Miami, its new training program designed to help small businesses thrive. The program is funded by a $500,000 grant from TD Charitable Foundation, TD Bank’s giving arm.

One in eight South Floridians is involved in small business activity. With the right tools and knowledge, they can reach new heights. Scale Up Miami is an 18-month program targeting 75 micro-enterprises over three cohorts utilizing the highly successful Babson College curriculum used nationwide. The Idea Center will bring the best of the Babson College curriculum and pare it down for micro-enterprises, including 40 hours of training followed by three months of business coaching at no cost.

Businesses located within Miami-Dade County are eligible to apply. In five Saturday workshops, small business owners will learn how to improve their business operations, refine their business marketing strategy and gain the financial know-how to access new funding channels.
