Experts from the hospitality industry, MDC instructors, and motivational speakers will lead the training sessions and cover topics such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, customer service, professional attire, financial literacy, food safety certification, and much more. This training session will include a Q&A panel discussion featuring representatives from Go Brightline, MDM Development & Marriott Hotels, Greater Miami Conventions & Visitors Bureau, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, Greater Miami and The Beaches Hotel Association, Port of Miami, Miami Aviation Department, and other Hospitality & Travel Industry Organizations at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 4.
Staff from MDC and the Hospitality Institute will also be available to assist with information on educational opportunities, including GED certification, MDC admissions and enrollment, and college financial aid.
“The Hospitality Institute prepares and empowers underserved inner city residents to connect to Miami’s growing hospitality job market by offering no cost training, and assisting with job placement upon training completion,” said Shelly Fano, executive director of MDC’s Hospitality Institute. “We are proud of our many success stories of participants who have completed training and found employment.”
