MDC’s Homestead Campus to Host Free Food Distribution Event Feb. 17

Miami, Jan. 24, 2018 Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Homestead Campus, in collaboration with Florida State Representative Holly Raschein and Farm Share, will host a free food distribution and community resource fair from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Homestead Campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Volunteers, including MDC students and employees, will help sort and distribute free food packages including nutritious foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

Farm Share is a non-profit organization that distributes food to individuals and families facing hardships, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, churches, and other organizations feeding the needy in Florida – free of charge. The organization’s mission is to alleviate hunger and malnutrition by recovering and distributing fresh and nutritious food to those who need it most. MDC has partnered with Farm Share for many years with events at multiple campuses. For more information, visit www.farmshare.org.
